In collaboration with Origin, we have implemented a PDA system for onsite recording of construction and audit jobs, which has been used to complete over 40,000 jobs. Origin provided excellent support throughout - including incorporating many of our suggestions into the ijob software and helping us select hardware.
By selecting the ijob software, we are now able to create new PDA jobs for anything we want by setting them up on our corporate database system - this can include text, lists, scans, photos, sketches and signatures with all kinds of defaults and dependencies. There is no need to go back to Origin if we need to change a job or set up a new one. We are expanding the types of work which are recorded via the PDA system on an ongoing basis.
Origin's support helpdesk staff are really knowledgeable and usually able to resolve issues straight away, so the contractor can keep on working. Where further investigation is required they keep us informed and follow up on new information. I would recommend Origin to other companies looking for a system to record data from remote field based operations.
